Bankless Co-Founder David Hoffman Says Ethereum Can Win Even If ETH Doesn’t
-

Bankless co-founder David Hoffman revealed that he sold his ETH, arguing that Ethereum’s long-term success as a network may no longer translate into major upside for the ETH token itself. The statement sparked debate across the crypto community because Hoffman has long been one of Ethereum’s most vocal public advocates.Hoffman clarified that he still remains “massively bullish” on Ethereum as infrastructure powering stablecoins, DeFi, tokenization, and Layer 2 ecosystems. However, he believes much of the value generated by that activity is increasingly being captured by applications and rollups instead of flowing directly back into ETH.
The comments arrive as ETH struggles to regain momentum above key resistance levels while institutional demand remains mixed. For many investors, Hoffman’s remarks highlight a growing debate around whether Ethereum’s dominance automatically guarantees stronger long-term performance for ETH as an asset.
