Prediction market platform Kalshi has fined and banned multiple US political figures after discovering they placed bets on their own election outcomes. Matt Klein was fined $539, while candidate Ezekiel Enriquez received a $784 penalty. Virginia Senate candidate Mark Moran faced the harshest punishment — a $6,229 fine and forfeiture of profits. All three individuals were banned from the platform for five years. Kalshi emphasized that even small bets violate its rules when participants have insider influence over the outcome, reinforcing its stance against election-related insider trading.
