What Are Institutions Actually Buying in Crypto Right Now?
-

Institutional capital is flowing into digital assets — but not into speculative altcoins. At the recent BeInCrypto Digital Summit, executives from Phemex, Polygon, OpenEden, and Lisk made one thing clear: large asset managers are prioritizing infrastructure over hype.
Rather than betting on volatile tokens, institutions are seeking “operating exposure” — investing in tokenization, custody solutions, and on-chain settlement systems. Maria Adamjee of Polygon noted that institutions are no longer debating whether crypto belongs in portfolios; they are deciding how to size it as a new asset class. The focus is on gaining access to blockchain rails and efficiency improvements, not chasing short-term price swings.
