Tether and Opera Expand Stablecoin Access via MiniPay Wallet

Stablecoin issuer Tether has partnered with web browser company Opera to expand access to digital dollars in emerging markets through Opera’s MiniPay wallet. The collaboration adds broader support for USDt (USDT) and Tether Gold (XAUT) within the self-custodial MiniPay app, which is built on the Celo blockchain.

Tether says the initiative targets users in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, offering a way to save and transfer dollar-denominated assets using only a mobile phone number. MiniPay currently operates in 60 countries, with 12.6 million activated wallets and rapid user growth driven largely by mobile-first regions.
