Proof of personhood gains attention as bots flood platforms
-

World Network, formerly Worldcoin, centers on proving that each account belongs to a real, unique human without relying on traditional identity documents. Its system uses an Orb device to scan a user’s iris and generate a cryptographic identifier known as World ID.
Unlike KYC systems, proof of personhood does not aim to reveal who someone is, only that they are human and singular. As AI-generated bots increasingly disrupt social media, governance systems, and token distributions, this approach is gaining renewed attention as a possible solution to large-scale digital impersonation.
