Tokyo-listed Metaplanet Inc. has sharply accelerated its Bitcoin strategy in 2025, reporting a year-to-date BTC Yield of 568.2% while expanding total holdings to 35,102 BTC.
The company disclosed that it acquired 4,279 BTC in Q4 alone, paying an average of ¥16.33 million ($104,642) per coin. Total Bitcoin investment for the year reached roughly ¥559.7 billion, with an average purchase price near ¥15.95 million per BTC.
Metaplanet’s Bitcoin purchases are part of its Bitcoin Treasury Operations launched in December 2024, signaling a long-term, balance-sheet-focused approach rather than short-term trading.
