Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Latest Patch Quietly Changed Ranked Play Meta

Treyarch and Raven Software have rolled out another Black Ops 7 update focused on multiplayer stability, Ranked Play balance, and Zombies progression fixes ahead of Season 4.

One of the biggest competitive changes targets the MPC-25 SMG, one of the strongest close-range weapons in the game right now. Developers restricted several high-performance attachments in Ranked Play, including:
• Flowguard Foregrip
• Recoil Sync Unit
• K&S Compensator
• 5.56x30mm FMJ

The move appears aimed at reducing recoil control stacking and improving competitive balance after players heavily optimized the MPC-25 for near laser accuracy.

The update also fixed:
• Weapon fire mode UI bugs
• A Black Hat exploit involving stolen Sentry Turrets
• Zombies progression issues preventing the Aether Ruler title from unlocking

With Season 4 approaching, Treyarch is clearly tightening Ranked Play balance while continuing aggressive post-launch support.
