Former LA Deputy Sentenced in Crypto Extortion Case

A former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy has been sentenced to over five years in prison for aiding a crypto-related extortion scheme.
Michael Coberg received a 63-month sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy charges tied to his role in assisting crypto figure Adam Iza, also known as “The Godfather.”
Prosecutors said Coberg was paid at least $20,000 per month for providing security and facilitating illegal activities connected to Iza’s operations.
