Crypto Fundraising Surges 50% as Venture Capital Focuses on Bigger Deals
-

Crypto fundraising has grown significantly over the past year, rising nearly 50% between March 2025 and March 2026, according to data from Messari. Despite the increase in total capital, the number of deals actually fell by 46%, suggesting venture firms are focusing their investments on fewer but much larger funding rounds.
The average crypto deal size climbed to about $34 million, a 272% increase year over year, while the number of active investors dropped to roughly 3,225. According to Eric Turner, CEO of Messari, the shift reflects a growing concentration of capital in late-stage projects as investors prioritize established startups rather than early experimental ventures.
