Dubai Insurance Launches Crypto Wallet

Dubai Insurance has introduced a crypto-enabled digital wallet, marking a first for the UAE insurance sector. The wallet allows policyholders to pay premiums and receive claims settlements using digital assets. Built on institutional custody infrastructure provided by Zodia Custody, the wallet operates within the country’s existing regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Zane Suren, managing director for commercial, Middle East and Africa at Zodia Custody, highlighted the growing need for trusted infrastructure as digital asset adoption accelerates, saying insurers must ensure policyholders can transact confidently with cryptocurrencies. Founded in 1970, Dubai Insurance provides both general and life insurance products across the UAE. Details on which digital assets will be supported or whether the wallet will cover all products have not yet been disclosed.
