SEC and CFTC to Discuss Crypto Regulation Harmonization
-

The SEC and CFTC announced they will host a joint event next Tuesday to outline their efforts to harmonize crypto regulations under President Donald Trump’s agenda. SEC Chair Paul Atkins and newly appointed CFTC Chair Michael Selig said the goal is to reduce regulatory confusion caused by overlapping jurisdictions and to create a framework that encourages innovation while protecting investors.
“For too long, market participants have been forced to navigate regulatory boundaries that are unclear in application and misaligned in design,” the chairs said.
The event will provide insight into how the two agencies plan to coordinate oversight of cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and decentralized finance in the US.
