Wyoming Launches First US State-Issued Stablecoin
-

The state of Wyoming has officially launched its own stablecoin, the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), marking a milestone in state-level digital asset adoption. Backed by dollar reserves and US Treasurys, the token is now live on the Solana blockchain and available through major crypto platforms.
State officials argue that FRNT offers faster, cheaper transfers than traditional payment systems while maintaining regulatory oversight. With other states exploring similar initiatives, Wyoming’s move may serve as a test case for how public-sector stablecoins could coexist with both private crypto issuers and legacy finance.
