Two Technical Paths for XRPL Staking Discussed

XRPL co-creator David Schwartz outlined two experimental approaches for native staking:

Two-layer consensus, where a subset of validators would stake and potentially be slashed.

Using transaction fees to fund zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) for smart contracts, removing the need for nodes to run contracts directly. Schwartz notes both ideas are technically impressive but not imminent.
