Canaan CEO: Bitcoin Mining Still Best Short-Term Play

Despite some miners pivoting toward AI infrastructure, Canaan CEO Nangeng Zhang says Bitcoin mining remains the most effective way to generate near-term returns.
He noted that while building AI-ready facilities takes years, deploying Bitcoin miners yields revenue immediately. Zhang said both Canaan and its clients are planning for AI-compatible sites, but for now, mining remains “the best way to allocate energy today.”
