Sassano: Ethereum Can Hit Higher Gas Limits Through Major Repricing of Transactions
-

Anthony Sassano says Ethereum’s path to a dramatically higher gas limit doesn’t rely solely on hardware improvements — it will come from repricing transactions across the network.
“We can lower the cost of a basic ETH transfer from 21,000 gas to 6,000 gas,” he explained, calling it a 70% reduction that redistributes costs across different operations.
By making simple transfers cheaper and repricing more computationally intensive tasks, developers believe Ethereum could safely support far higher throughput. Vitalik Buterin has backed this approach, advocating increased costs for “inefficient” operations.
