OpenAI Forced to Drop the Word “Cameo” After Trademark Clash
-

OpenAI’s Sora app has hit another snag: a U.S. judge issued a temporary restraining order blocking the company from using the word “cameo” after the celebrity-message platform Cameo claimed trademark infringement. The order lasts until December 22, with a hearing set for December 19.
Cameo says the name confuses consumers; OpenAI says no company can own a common word. As of Monday, Sora still uses the term, setting the stage for a heated legal showdown. -
