AFP: Law Enforcement Will Never Ask for Crypto Wallet Access
-

Australia’s cyber security agencies warn that scammers are escalating tactics by abusing the ReportCyber system to add legitimacy to fake investigations.
Targets receive unexpected calls claiming their wallet has been compromised and are pressured to “secure” funds by moving them — straight into the scammer’s control. This trend mirrors global patterns where criminals use fake case numbers and police impersonation to steal digital assets.
Authorities are now working with exchanges and telcos to tighten fraud detection, but say public awareness is key:
️ Hang up on unsolicited “investigator” calls
️ Never share seed phrases or access keys
️ Confirm any claim directly through Cyber.gov.au -
People really need to hear this — legit authorities never ask for keys.

If someone asks for wallet access, it’s 100% a scam. No exceptions.
