Protect Yourself from the Fake “Cloud Storage Full” Scam
-

This scam is exploding — especially among older adults who fear losing precious photos.
Scammers use fear + urgency to push fast decisions, but a few habits can stop them cold:
Never tap storage alerts from SMS/iMessage
Check storage status inside the real app
Use MFA on your cloud + payment accounts
Watch for small “test charges” on your card
Use a password manager + antivirus
Report texts to 7726 (SPAM)If a message says your photos will be deleted unless you pay immediately — it’s a scam.
-
This scam works because it looks like a normal phone notification.

-
Never click storage warnings unless you’re sure they’re real.
