Mitchnick highlighted that stablecoins have already achieved “massive product-market fit” in payments, citing their rapid adoption for low-cost transfers, corporate transactions, and cross-border settlements.
This stands in contrast to Bitcoin, where scaling solutions remain uncertain. Galaxy Research previously warned that many Bitcoin Layer-2 rollups may not be sustainable long term, creating further doubts about BTC’s ability to compete in everyday payments.
According to Mitchnick, Bitcoin may still compete in the remittance market, but doing so at scale remains “more speculative” for now. -
