Meta Removes 10M Fake Profiles as Part of Anti-Impersonation Push

As Meta introduces new creator protection tools, the company revealed that it recently removed 10 million impersonating profiles and took action against 500,000 accounts involved in spammy or fake engagement.
Creators who meet integrity and originality requirements will gain access to the new content protection tool directly from their Professional Dashboard under “Content Protection.”
The system is mobile-only for now, but desktop support is being tested.
If creators spot misuse, they can dispute claims or submit copyright takedown requests directly through Meta’s IP reporting channel.Meta says the goal is simple: give original creators priority over copycats.
