GSC Game World has issued a DMCA strike against Maewing’s survival shooter MISERY, resulting in the game being removed from Steam. The studio claims that MISERY infringes on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. intellectual property, publishing photos as evidence of the alleged violations.

In response, Maewing strongly denied the claims, emphasizing that MISERY is set in the fictional Republic of Zaslavie and does not use any characters, plots, assets, music, or code from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. The developer called the DMCA strike an abuse of power and vowed to fight for the game’s reinstatement on Steam.
