Balancer, one of DeFi’s top decentralized exchanges, was hacked for over $116 million after attackers exploited faulty access controls in its v2 contracts.
The losses hit staked Ether and liquidity pool tokens, including Lido’s wstETH and StakeWise’s osETH.
Despite undergoing 10+ audits, Balancer was compromised by what experts call a months-long, sophisticated attack.
The team has offered a 20% bounty if funds are returned and is working with law enforcement.
