Residents in Hood County, Texas, have lost their bid to form a new municipality called Mitchell Bend to regulate noise from a nearby Bitcoin mining facility.

Only 38% of 138 voters supported incorporation, according to The Texas Tribune. Locals say MARA’s 60,000 Bitcoin miners have caused sleepless nights and headaches due to constant noise, despite the company installing a 24-foot sound wall and switching many machines to liquid cooling.

With the failed vote, residents say they’ll explore other ways to seek peace and regulation.

Crypto mining shaping local politics — that’s a headline we didn’t expect. 🗳️

Noise complaints today, zoning laws tomorrow — local pushback is real. 🧱

Mining growth is inevitable, but sustainability and community harmony must evolve with it.

When mining meets neighborhoods, compromise becomes the real currency.

                Scaling mining? Scale responsibility too.
