Apple Nears $1B Annual Deal with Google to Power Siri’s AI Overhaul
-

Apple is reportedly close to a $1 billion-per-year deal with Google to use a custom Gemini AI model to revamp Siri, according to Bloomberg.
The custom model — featuring 1.2 trillion parameters — would be eight times more powerful than Apple’s current cloud-based AI (150 billion parameters). The partnership marks a major shift for Apple, which has traditionally relied on in-house tech but is now using Google’s AI as a temporary bridge until its own models catch up.
The overhauled Siri is expected to launch next spring, though details could still change before release.
