The White House confirmed that Binance founder Changpeng Zhao’s pardon went through a thorough review before reaching President Donald Trump.
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the decision was “handled with utmost seriousness” by the Department of Justice and White House Counsel’s Office.
Trump, meanwhile, told 60 Minutes he had “no idea” who Zhao is, insisting the pardon wasn’t personal.
