Could Zcash Replace Bitcoin? Analysts Weigh In
-

As Bitcoin faces scrutiny for its lack of privacy, some analysts argue Zcash could one day take its place.
Whistleblower Edward Snowden recently called Bitcoin’s transparency its “core flaw,” suggesting that the asset may fail as an “electronic cash system” without anonymity.Crypto commentator Thor Torrens echoed this sentiment, saying privacy must be “baked into the base layer” — something Bitcoin can no longer achieve.
“Bitcoin is http, Zcash is https,” Torrens wrote, claiming Zcash could become “the number one crypto” if Bitcoin stagnates.
Still, experts remain divided. Zcash may embody privacy ideals, but Bitcoin’s dominance in liquidity, institutional backing, and infrastructure makes it a formidable incumbent.
