Dan Houser Says GTA Can’t Leave America

Speaking on the Lex Fridman Podcast, Grand Theft Auto co-founder Dan Houser explained why the iconic series likely won’t move beyond U.S. borders.

“You needed guns, you needed these larger-than-life characters… the game was so much about America,” Houser said.
He added that while GTA: London was “cute and fun,” a full GTA title wouldn’t work the same way outside the U.S.
