Thailand’s New “Digital Nomad” Visa — Stay for Almost a Year 🏝💻
-
Thailand just made it even easier for remote workers, crypto traders, and freelancers to call paradise their office. The new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) lets you work from the Land of Smiles for up to 360 days — but with a few conditions.
Key details:
Cost: $270 (10,000 THB) per application Validity: 5 years Stay: 180 days, extendable to another 180 (same fee applies) Funds requirement: At least $13,650 (500,000 THB) to support yourself and family Ideal for digital nomads, freelancers, and location-independent entrepreneurs
What to know:
Not the same as the stricter Long Term Residents visa, which requires $80k+ annual income and corporate ties. Thailand will tax foreign income (including crypto trading profits) if you stay over 180 days. Exact tax rules for DTV holders are still unclear.
With Thailand already a hotspot for crypto devs and remote workers, this new visa could make it even more attractive — as long as the tax man doesn’t scare you off.
