Netflix Embraces Generative AI — but Says Creativity Still Comes First
-

Netflix is leaning into generative AI as a production tool, not a replacement for creatives. In its latest quarterly earnings report, the streamer said it’s “well positioned to leverage advances in AI” to make content creation faster and more efficient.
CEO Ted Sarandos emphasized that “AI can give creatives better tools” but “it doesn’t automatically make you a great storyteller.” Netflix has already used AI in projects like The Eternaut and Happy Gilmore 2 for visual effects and scene design.
Despite industry concerns about AI replacing jobs, Netflix insists it’s focused on enhancement, not substitution.
