🎮⚖️ Sony pushes back against Tencent in copyright clash
-

Sony has asked the court to reject Tencent’s attempt to dismiss the Light of Motiram lawsuit, arguing that damage has already been done due to global promotion of the game. The publisher also accused Tencent of playing “a shell game with its brands and entities,” using subsidiaries like Level Infinite, Aurora Studios, and Proxima Beta to obscure who is really behind the game.
The lawsuit began in July after Sony claimed Light of Motiram is a “slavish clone” of the Horizon franchise. Tencent responded in September, calling Sony’s claims an attempt to monopolize genre conventions and citing other inspirations like Zelda and Far Cry.
