ZA/UM, the studio behind Disco Elysium, posted a simple “thank you” on X to celebrate the game’s 6th anniversary, but the response was far from celebratory. Fans flooded the post with angry comments and profanity, recalling the firing of the game’s original developers in 2022: Robert Kurvitz, Aleksander Rostov, and Helen Hindpere.

Kurvitz and Rostov later claimed in a blog post that they were ousted through fraudulent means, alleging that the money used to acquire a majority stake in ZA/UM was illegally taken from the studio itself.
