BlackRock CEO Larry Fink: “Tokenization of All Assets Is the Next Wave”
-

Asset management giant BlackRock is betting big on the tokenization of traditional financial assets, with CEO Larry Fink calling it the company’s “next wave of opportunity” over the coming decades.
Speaking on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street on Tuesday, Fink said tokenizing assets like ETFs could serve as a bridge between the crypto-native world and traditional retirement products.
“If we can tokenize an ETF, digitize that ETF, we can have investors who are just beginning to invest in markets through, let’s say, crypto,” Fink explained. “Now we can get them into the more traditional long-term retirement products.”
Fink added that BlackRock sees the shift as a multi-decade transformation, where “traditional financial assets are repotted in a digital manner,” allowing investors to remain inside a digital ecosystem.
