Privacy-focused blockchain Monero (XMR) has launched a major client update, v0.18.4.3 “Fluorine Fermi,” aimed at boosting security against so-called “spy nodes.”

Spy nodes are malicious actors that try to match IP addresses with transactions, undermining Monero’s privacy guarantees. The new update introduces an improved peer selection algorithm to avoid large subnet clusters often exploited by spy networks.
