A7A5 Expansion Raises Geopolitical and Compliance Concerns
-

As A7A5’s popularity grows, so do concerns over regulatory compliance and geopolitical ties. According to the Centre for Information Resilience (CIR), nearly 78% of A7A5 transactions have flowed through Chinese jurisdictions, with the stablecoin also expanding aggressively into Africa, including Nigeria and Zimbabwe.
A7A5 executives, including Oleg Ogienko, defended the project’s legitimacy at Token2049, where its presence sparked debate about the use of stablecoins to bypass sanctions.
CIR called for “further research” into A7A5’s financial networks and potential links to Russian political influence, warning that the project’s rapid rise may reveal loopholes in global crypto oversight.
