U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis has confirmed that funding for the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) could “start anytime,” though legislative delays are slowing progress.
In an X post on Monday, Lummis said that “thanks to President Trump, the acquisition of funds for an SBR can start anytime,” but called the legislative process a “slog.”
The Wyoming senator’s remarks follow renewed discussions about how the federal government could leverage its $1 trillion in unrealized gold gains to invest in Bitcoin as part of long-term fiscal strategy.
