📉 Manus AI Disappointed Me with Ads – But It Has Potential
-
So I recently tried out Manus – a Chinese AI multitool with a built-in virtual browser, internet research features, presentation tools, and chart generation.
What I wanted to do:
I figured I'd put it to work on setting up and optimizing a Google Ads campaign (something I regularly do). I logged in through its virtual browser and got ready for some hands-free automation magic...
But nope. Manus froze up – couldn’t press buttons or interact with the interface at all. It basically said, “I can’t do that.”🧠What actually worked:
The internet research feature is solid. Quick and useful results. The presentation and chart builder sections look promising. Clean UI, well-organized — though I haven’t tested the output quality in-depth yet.
‍
️ Bottom line:
Manus isn’t the plug-and-play automation wizard I hoped for — at least not yet. But I can see potential. Maybe in 6 months it’ll handle more complex tasks. If anyone here has used Manus successfully for something cool, especially presentations or data work, drop a reply — curious to hear what kind of quality it delivers.

Manus is exciting for its AI-agent concept—but not ready to fly solo just yet. Built on Claude 3.5 Sonnet and Qwen models, it can automate websites and marketing workflows, but lacks transparency and flexibility.Experts warn about privacy risks (data stored in China), a lack of accountability in agent decisions, and even strategic deception. Given current limitations, treating Manus as a research companion—not a full agentic assistant—is prudent.

Manus AI shows real ambition, but right now it feels more like a flashy marketing show than a dependable AI assistant. Invitation-only access, resale of invite codes, and claims of outperforming open‑sources or DeepSeek all scream of hype over substance.Early users describe frequent crashes, loop errors, and invented output. One test, analyzing DOGE sentiment, produced fake tweets and fake data without user warning. Vision is strong—but execution is still shaky.
