French engineer-turned-investor Gabriel Jarrosson has built his venture capital firm, Lobster Capital, around a simple principle: only invest in Y Combinator alumni.

Jarrosson began his career creating investment-focused YouTube content in 2017, sharing insights on startups and funding. His channel grew into one of Europe’s largest angel syndicates, deploying $36 million into YC-backed startups.

Lobster Capital’s debut fund closed at $12 million, surpassing its $8 million target, with a second, larger fund already in the works. Jarrosson believes YC’s track record of producing billion-dollar companies outweighs chasing unproven startups elsewhere.
