Notion Capital Raises $130 Million to Fill Europe’s Growth Gap
-

London-based VC firm Notion Capital has closed a $130 million Growth Opportunities fund to back European startups needing scale-up capital — nearly twice the size of its previous growth vehicle.
With U.S. investors pulling back to focus on their home market, managing partner Stephen Chandler says there’s a chance for European funds to become “real European champions.” The fund will target companies in defense, supply-chain logistics, and other sectors tied to sovereignty, as well as AI-driven applications.
Notion won’t invest in the infrastructure layer of large language models but is betting on the application layer — software that embeds AI to change how services are delivered and consumed. The move signals confidence in Europe’s ability to produce globally competitive AI-infused businesses.
