FTX Recovery Efforts Continue With Creditor Payouts

The lawsuit against GDA is the latest move by the FTX Recovery Trust as it works to reclaim misappropriated funds following FTX’s 2022 collapse.

So far, the trust has made major progress:

$1.2 billion payout to claimants in February 2025.

$5 billion distribution in May.

$1.6 billion payout scheduled for September 30.

This follows a $175 million settlement reached in 2023 with Genesis Global Trading (separate from GDA).

With Sam Bankman-Fried and several ex-executives now serving prison time, the trust continues clawback efforts to maximize recovery for creditors.
