For Cameron Gurr, working at Disney was a lifelong goal. But when the pandemic furloughed him in 2020, he started résumé writing gigs on Fiverr.By 2021, his freelance income outpaced his $60,000 Disney salary, and when Disney reopened, he declined to return.
Now, the 33-year-old has served clients from shrimp farmers to CEOs, writing up to 10 résumés a day during peak months. “Every day, it’s my responsibility to make things happen. That freedom is worth it,” he said.
