Kevin Durant Recovers Bitcoin After Nearly a Decade

NBA star Kevin Durant has regained access to his long-lost Bitcoin after nearly 10 years, following a successful Coinbase account recovery, CEO Brian Armstrong announced on X.

Durant first bought Bitcoin around 2014–2015 after being inspired by YouTube videos and a conversation at a party hosted by a16z co-founder Ben Horowitz. Neither Durant nor his agent disclosed how much Bitcoin they purchased, but the investment has likely skyrocketed in value given Bitcoin’s 11,470% growth since 2016.

Armstrong confirmed the recovery:
