Newly released court documents reveal that Coinbase’s 2025 data breach was orchestrated by insiders at its outsourced customer support firm, TaskUs.Employees allegedly stole sensitive data including Social Security numbers, bank account details, and more.
The breach impacted less than 1% of Coinbase’s monthly active users, but caused major financial losses.
The attack began in September 2024, with TaskUs employee Ashita Mishra reportedly photographing customer records and selling them to outside hackers.
