Hyperliquid Strategies Reported $152M Profit in Q1 — Here's How HYPE Made It Happen
-

Hyperliquid Strategies Inc, trading under the ticker PURR, posted a $152.5 million net profit for the three months ending March 31, 2026, driven almost entirely by a single factor: unrealized gains of $198.4 million on its Hyperliquid token holdings. HYPE surged 44% during Q1 2026, dramatically outperforming Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana over the same period, and the company's concentrated bet on the token paid off in a major way. Since December 2025, Hyperliquid Strategies has deployed $216 million to accumulate approximately 7.3 million HYPE, and its total treasury had grown to 20 million HYPE tokens as of April 29. The company also holds $103 million in cash and reported total assets of $809.4 million as of March 31, alongside $2.6 million in staking revenue generated during the quarter.
It also spent $10.5 million repurchasing 3 million of its own PURR shares — a signal that management views the stock as undervalued relative to its underlying asset base.Despite the strong quarterly result, it is worth noting the fuller picture: Hyperliquid Strategies still carries a net loss of $165.4 million for the nine months ending March 31, 2026, reflecting the volatility of building a treasury strategy around a single token that has experienced significant swings in both directions. CEO David Schamis remains openly bullish, pointing to upcoming Hyperliquid protocol developments — including HIP-3 real-world asset perpetuals, portfolio margin features, and outcome markets — as catalysts for sustained fee generation and growth. The company has also completed the wind-down of its legacy biotech operations and announced a validator partnership with Unit, sharpening its identity as a pure-play HYPE treasury vehicle. For investors evaluating PURR as a way to gain leveraged exposure to Hyperliquid's ecosystem growth, Q1's results are the clearest demonstration yet of what that bet looks like when the underlying token runs.
