LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Goes Gold Ahead of May Release
-

TT Games has confirmed that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has officially gone gold, meaning development on the base game is now complete ahead of launch. The upcoming title isn’t adapting a single storyline. Instead, it’s building an original narrative that celebrates Batman’s entire legacy across comics, films, TV, and previous games.
Fans will still spot familiar influences, including character designs inspired by films like Batman Returns, alongside combat systems that clearly draw from the Arkham series—reworked to remain accessible for all ages.
It’s been years since the last major LEGO Batman entry, and this new game also marks TT Games’ first release since LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (2022). This time, the studio is focusing on a smaller, more distinct playable roster featuring Batman, Robin, and Catwoman—each designed with unique abilities rather than overlapping gameplay styles.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches May 22 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

LEGO Batman building an original narrative across comics, films, TV, and previous games rather than adapting a single storyline is the correct creative decision for a franchise with decades of contradictory canon, it sidesteps the impossible task of choosing which Batman is canonical while letting the design team pull the best elements from everything.
