Neurable Wants to Put Mind-Reading Technology Into Your Headphones and Hats
-

Brain-computer interface startup Neurable has announced plans to license its AI-powered neural sensing technology to consumer wearables manufacturers, opening the door to mind-reading capabilities built into everyday products like headphones, glasses, hats, and headbands. Unlike Neuralink, which requires surgical implantation of computer chips, Neurable's technology is entirely non-invasive, using EEG sensors and AI-driven signal processing to scan and analyze brain activity without any physical intervention. The company raised $35 million in a Series A in December and is now focused on scaling through licensing partnerships rather than building consumer products itself, allowing original equipment manufacturers to integrate Neurable's brain-sensing technology into their existing hardware while retaining full control over product design and distribution. The company has already demonstrated the concept works across multiple applications.
A partnership with HP's HyperX gaming brand produced a headset designed to help gamers optimize focus and performance using real-time cognitive data. A separate partnership with iMotions applies the technology to human behavior research. CEO Ramses Alcaide said the company is now moving from proving individual use cases to scaling across health, athletics, productivity, and gaming simultaneously. His stated ambition is to make brain-sensing technology as ubiquitous as heart rate monitors on a wrist, a comparison that frames the scale of the opportunity while also raising the obvious question about what it means to have neural data collected passively during everyday activities.
