Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveals Totenreich Map, Expanding Zombies’ Dark Aether Storyline
-

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has officially unveiled its latest Zombies map, Totenreich, in a new cinematic trailer that continues the long-running Dark Aether storyline. The cooperative survival mode, a staple of Treyarch’s Zombies experience since Call of Duty: World at War, once again pushes the narrative forward while revisiting key threads from the original Aether saga involving Element 115 and Group 935.Set in a snowy Norwegian fishing village, Totenreich introduces a striking mix of returning and new threats, including a massive frost giant that clashes with a towering robot first seen in the Origins map from Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The map is tied closely to Edward Richtofen’s storyline, alongside returning characters such as Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo, as well as the modern Dark Aether crew, signaling a direct convergence of both timelines.
The map is scheduled to arrive on April 30, 2026, as part of the Season 3 Reloaded update. With its mix of nostalgia, lore-heavy storytelling, and large-scale boss encounters, Totenreich appears positioned as a major narrative milestone in the ongoing Zombies saga.
