Tesla Expands Robotaxi Service to More Texas Cities
-

Tesla is pushing further into autonomous mobility, officially rolling out its robotaxi service in Dallas and Houston. The expansion was confirmed via a short social media post showcasing driverless vehicles operating without human monitors in the front seat.
This marks Tesla’s third robotaxi market in Texas after launching in Austin, where the company has been testing and gradually scaling the service since 2025. According to earlier filings, the Austin fleet has already recorded multiple incidents, highlighting both the rapid progress and ongoing challenges of real-world autonomous deployment.
While the Dallas and Houston rollouts appear limited for now, the move signals Tesla’s broader ambition to scale autonomous ride-hailing. With early-stage fleets still small, the real test will be whether Tesla can expand safely while maintaining reliability in increasingly complex urban environments.
