Trading Comes to X as Canada Gets First Access

One of the most significant aspects of the Smart Cashtag rollout is the integration with Wealthsimple, which allows Canadian users to trade stocks and cryptocurrencies directly from the X app. This feature creates a seamless experience where users can move from discussion to action in just a few taps.

While trading is not yet available in the US, Canada is effectively serving as a testing ground for how these features might expand globally. According to X’s product lead Nikita Bier, this is only an early preview, with plans for broader rollout across web, Android, and additional regions.

This approach suggests X is carefully building its financial ecosystem step by step. By starting with select markets and partnerships, the platform can refine the experience before scaling it worldwide.
