Google Upgrades Vids with AI Avatars and Video Generation
-

Google has rolled out a major update to its video editor app Vids, adding advanced AI features that allow users to create and control avatars using simple text prompts. Users can now direct avatars to perform actions, interact with objects, and customize their appearance, clothing, and environments — all through natural language.
The update also integrates Google’s Veo 3.1 model for generating short video clips, along with direct export to YouTube and a new Chrome extension for screen recording. With these additions, Vids continues evolving into a full AI-powered content creation tool, competing with platforms like Synthesia and HeyGen in the growing AI video space.
