FBI Urges Crypto Users to Stay Alert as Impersonation Scams Rise

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is urging crypto users to remain vigilant after identifying a scam targeting Tron wallets through fake enforcement messages. Victims are instructed to submit personal details via fraudulent websites, and those affected are encouraged to report incidents to the Internet Crime Complaint Center.

The warning comes as the FBI continues to actively combat crypto fraud. In 2024, the agency launched a sting operation using a fake token called NexFundAI to lure and identify bad actors involved in market manipulation schemes. The operation led to charges against at least 18 individuals, highlighting the agency’s evolving tactics in tackling digital asset crime.
